1. Creating Your Character

The first step in your MapleStory journey is creating your character. You'll be able to customize your appearance and choose your starting class.

2. Classes

MapleStory offers five main classes for Explorers, each with unique abilities and playstyles.

Warrior

Bowman

3. Basic Controls

4. Learning the UI

5. Job Advancements

As you progress in MapleStory, you'll have the opportunity to advance your character into one of the five main classes. Each class has specific requirements and a designated town for job advancement.

Warrior, Thief, Bowman, and Pirate

To become a Warrior, Thief, Bowman, or Pirate, you need to reach level 10 and meet each class's required minimum stats.

Magician

To become a Magician, you need to reach level 8 and meet the required minimum stats.

Warrior

Location: Perion

Requirements: Level 10, 35 STR

Magician

Location: Ellinia

Requirements: Level 8, 20 INT

Bowman

Location: Henesys

Requirements: Level 10, 25 DEX

Thief

Location: Kerning City

Requirements: Level 10, 25 DEX

Pirate

Location: Nautilus Harbor

Requirements: Level 10, 20 DEX

Once you've reached the required level and stats, visit the corresponding town and look for the Job Instructor NPC. They will guide you through the job advancement process and help you choose your new abilities.
